November, 2003 – The leaders of Momentum Advantage Group, Gutman Consulting and E. Haag & Associates come together to form Momentum Advantage Partners, LLC November 1, 2003: Momentum Advantage Partners, LLC is formed by bringing together the leaders from Momentum Advantage Group, Gutman Consulting Group and E. Haag and Associates. Momentum Advantage Partners is dedicated to reducing their clients’ operating costs through utility cost reduction, energy consumption management and the integration of new and innovative energy-related technologies within the framework of an overall strategic energy management plan. The Momentum Advantage team represents over 80 years of combined experience in Fortune 100 companies, municipal government and a wide variety of entrepreneurial ventures. The MAP partners; David Gutman, Ed Haag, and Philip Preston have each had executive responsibilities including P&L management for public or private businesses up to $500 Million. They have held executive positions as leaders of functions as diverse as engineering, marketing, R&D, manufacturing and general management. As a result they are able to bring practical and innovative solutions to a wide range of business problems. Having watched energy and other utility costs rise dramatically over the years, they came to understand that these costs can become a threat to competitiveness. As a result they have now assembled a team of experts to not only control utility costs, but to apply the principals of strategic planning and continuous improvement in bringing long term control to energy consumption and conservation. As co-founder and Managing Partner of Momentum Advantage Partners, LLC, Dr. David Gutman works with clients to engage in the utility audit and energy management plan. He works with energy partners to make sure the programs they deliver fit the needs of Momentum’s clients. After a nearly 30 year corporate career in both the packaged goods and high-tech arenas, he went on to consult with smaller companies in the areas of brand development, strategic planning and alignment of long-range goals with the management of day-to-day business operations. As co-founder and Managing Partner of Momentum Advantage Partners, LLC, Mr. Philip Preston assists businesses and non-profit organizations in developing competitive advantage through lean energy, lean manufacturing and technology innovation. His client engagements include creation of Energy Management Plans, Continuous Improvement, Geothermal Systems and Manufacturing Strategy. His earlier career included the start-up and development of a high-tech firm that was sold to a leading electronics conglomerate. In the consulting arena, Mr. Preston has developed strategic and operating plans for a wide variety of enterprises. As Partner of Momentum Advantage Partners, LLC, Mr. Ed Haag works closely with clients in both the public and private sectors. His expertise in all aspects of construction and his entrepreneurial experience in starting businesses in the fields of general contracting, lighting and real estate, assures clients that only the most competent sub-contracting partners are qualified for work with MAP. His company, E. Haag and Associates, has been recognized for achieving high sales growth and integrity in the field of employee benefits. In addition, Mr. Haag’s 23 years of public sector experience gives MAP the knowledge of how to bring projects to fruition in the complex world of municipal government.
