As co-founder and Managing Partner of Momentum Advantage Partners, LLC, Mr. Preston assists businesses and non-profit organizations in developing competitive advantage through lean energy, lean manufacturing and technology innovation. His client engagements include creation of Energy Management Plans, Continuous Improvement, Geothermal Systems and Manufacturing Strategy. He has served on the Advisory Boards of three Internet start-ups and has been on the founding team for three businesses serving as VP Engineering, VP Business Development and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to forming Momentum Advantage Partners, Mr. Preston was the Managing Director, Wireless Internet Solutions for Motorola’s Entertainment Solutions Business where he launched a new technology business for Motorola in the US and Europe. Prior to that he was Director of Manufacturing Strategy and Director of Advanced Manufacturing Technology Systems for Motorola’s Global Cellular Sector. In that capacity he led the effort on outsourcing strategy, flexible manufacturing, conversion cost reduction, factory automation and inventory management. In addition, Mr. Preston was also a founding member and Technology Director for CAE Systems, a high technology IC design start-up that was successfully built and later acquired by Tektronix. He also held high-level technology and R&D positions for Telex and Standard Oil Corporation. Mr. Preston earned his MBA from Northwestern and holds MS Engineering and BS Engineering degrees from the University of Tulsa. He has published over 20 papers, and has served as Officer, Conference Chairman and Technical Reviewer for IEEE and ACM. He is the recipient of numerous Corporate Honors for Technical and Managerial Excellence. Mr. Preston is a member of the IEEE, Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, the Chicago Software Association, IGSPHA, GHPC and two Chicago area Chambers of Commerce. He is a certified Geothermal Systems Installer.
