Services
MAP is uniquely skilled in the areas of reducing your operating costs as well as
increasing your revenue. We offer the following critical service offerings:
Momentum Advantage Partners is an energy services firm serving
the commercial, industrial, retail and public sectors. We provide consulting,
engineering, project management and financing services. Our mission is to bring
significant benefit to the bottom line and create competitive advantage for our
clients.
For firms striving to lower the energy costs for their
operations MAP provides a full suite of services to assist in converting energy
into a strategic, managed resource and a competitive advantage. We determine the
current energy usage profile, develop a step by step plan to achieve Energy Star
certification, manage the implementation and provide ongoing consulting and
assistance.
For new construction, we work from concept through
commissioning to deliver a facility using the latest technologies and approaches
to energy and the environment. MAP engineers and architects are LEED accredited
professionals serving as the owner’s representative and energy experts on the
design team.
MAP is also at the forefront in generation of renewable
energy. Whether it is assisting industrial clients in on-site wind and solar
generation, geothermal or ethanol, MAP brings the expertise. We have also worked
with local public sector entities to establish renewable energy zones. MAP’s
experience in business development, project management and technology are
critical resources to project success.
Utility Rate Reduction
Every business or organization; be it a manufacturer or
service provider, privately held or public, for profit or non-profit, is
burdened by a significant cost for utilities: gas, electricity, telecom and
waste removal. Utility contracts, usage patterns and current bills are analyzed,
all documented in a written report that includes findings on how to obtain the
lowest possible rates.
Reduced Energy Consumption
With energy one of the top operating costs, every dollar saved
goes straight to improved profitability. It all begins with an assessment of the
current energy use profile conducted by our certified energy consultants and
professional engineers:
- Energy Benchmark – We meet with the executive team to
review your current approach to energy, and benchmark the organization
against similar companies across the US. We report on energy used per square
foot and the estimated capital expenditure required to achieve your new
energy budget target.
- Preliminary facility walk-through – We do an initial
one-day on site assessment with the operations team to spot high energy use
areas. We examine current and future operations which impact facility use,
work flow, planned expansions, renovations, changes in hours of operation
and areas of particular concern. We look at building envelope, lighting,
heating/cooling and ventilation, manufacturing processes and O&M procedures.
Specifically we look for opportunities to reduce consumption. We also
perform a preliminary assessment of renewable energy opportunities such as
geothermal heating and cooling, solar or wind.
- Findings and Recommendations - We prepare a preliminary
report of findings and recommendations and review this with the energy
management team. The report covers:
- Energy benchmark results and recommended energy
saving targets
- Estimated energy demand profile
- Identification of key areas of concern and
opportunity, including low energy lighting
- Recommendation of priorities and proposed next steps
- We may at this point recommend a more detailed
assessment of a specific issue.
- Identification of financing assistance and possible
grants available through local, state or national programs.
Fees are based on size and number of facilities, whether it is
a manufacturing operation, and scope of operations.
Energy Management Program
With the energy baseline understood, it is time to prioritize
and act. The Energy Management Action Plan uses the Momentum Advantage
step-by-step approach to set energy reduction targets and lower your energy
costs. We work with the executive team to develop a customized continuous
improvement energy program, including a project roadmap, goals, and periodic
progress assessment. We first look for low cost/no cost measures, progressing up
to larger capital projects. On requested items, our engineering team will
perform an investment-grade analysis of project cost, estimated savings and ROI
to assist you in securing the needed budget. MAP fees are based on time and
materials.
Project Management and Implementation
We will manage the implementation of energy projects,
including develop detailed description of the work to be done, solicit and
review bids, interface with contractors, and review work-in-progress. We are
always on the lookout for cost saving opportunities throughout the
implementation and ensure the work is performed to the highest standards. After
project implementation we measure the actual energy performance improvement. Our
diagnostic systems enable monitoring of electric energy and power use,
temperature, humidity, flow measurements, and thermographic imaging and indoor
air quality.
Energy and LEED Engineering Expertise
MAP can serve as the Energy and LEED expert. Building owners,
developers and architects all can benefit from our unmatched experience in
engineering and implementing energy projects. With projects receiving LEED
Platinum rating, our team of engineers can bring practical experience and the
latest technology to your building project. MAP partners provide energy
efficient Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) design services. Emphasis is
placed on clearly defining the initial design concept and performance parameters
for design-build contracts, design and specification of resource efficient
modifications or new construction for HVAC by using fundamental engineering
design principals rather than conventional rules of thumb. We also assist in
energy efficient design of lighting and building envelope systems, on-site power
generation and selection of appliances and process equipment.
Renewable Energy Systems Design
MAP designs and installs wind, solar, geothermal systems.
Geothermal heating and cooling in commercial buildings can reduce energy costs
by 25% to 40%. Our professional engineers have proven experience in designing
geothermal systems. The geothermal design will provide estimated benefits and
costs of the ground loop, payback period and specifications. At the time of
implementation, these design engineers will work hand in hand with the
geothermal contractor to ensure the system will operate as planned.
Training and Seminars
We provide for the special training and orientation of the
management, operations & maintenance staff and provide documentation of the new
systems to ensure optimal operation & maintenance.
Energy Leadership Financing
For large energy projects we offer a customized financial
assistance package for companies striving for LEED Silver or Energy Star rating.
New construction and existing facilities, public as well as private, located
anywhere in the US can qualify for this financing plan. Projects must be $2M or
higher. Very flexible payment arrangements tailored to keep facility cash flow
positive. We offer leased loop packages for geothermal systems. MAP can also
assist in identifying and securing private and public funding sources for energy
saving projects and capital improvements.
